# Create your account

## Sign up

1. Go to [chat.sourcegeek.com/sign-up](https://chat.sourcegeek.com/sign-up)
2. Sign up with **Google**, **LinkedIn** or **Microsoft** under **Or continue with**, or fill in your first name, last name, email address and a password of at least 8 characters and click **Create account**
3. If you signed up with an email address, open the verification email we send you (subject "Verify your SourceGeek email") and click the link. It works for 1 hour
4. You're in. SourceGeek creates a workspace for you and opens [setup](/first-time)

Microsoft sign-in works with work, school and personal Microsoft accounts.

> **Invited by a teammate?**

> Sign up with the email address the invitation was sent to. You join their workspace automatically. See [Members](/workspace/members#accepting-an-invitation).

## Log in

Go to [chat.sourcegeek.com/sign-in](https://chat.sourcegeek.com/sign-in) and log in the same way you signed up.

If you try to log in before verifying your email address, SourceGeek sends you a new verification link.

If you see "This email is already registered with another sign-in method", log in the way you first signed up, for example with Google instead of a password.

## Forgot your password?

1. On the log-in page, click **Forgot password?**
2. Enter your email address and click **Send reset link**
3. Open the email (subject "Reset your SourceGeek password") and click the link within 1 hour
4. Enter a new password twice and click **Update password**

To change your password while you're logged in, use the same steps: there is no separate password setting.

## Log out

Click your avatar at the bottom of the left rail and choose **Sign out**.
