# Connectors

With connectors, SourceGeek can work in the tools you already use: search your inbox and send emails, check calendars and schedule interviews, find and update candidates in your ATS, read meeting transcripts, and more.

## Connect a tool

1. Go to **Settings → Connectors**
2. Find the tool: browse the featured connectors and categories, or search
3. Click it and then **Connect**
4. Sign in to the tool and allow access, or paste an API key (see below)

When it's done you see "Connector connected and enabled for your account." SourceGeek can now use it in your chats, projects and automations.

You can also connect from the suggestions under the message box on the home page, and from prompts in [Discover](/discover).

### Sign-in or API key

- Most tools connect by signing in to them
- Some, mostly applicant tracking systems and HR tools, use an **API key** or token. The connect window says where to find it in that tool. The key is stored encrypted and never shown again; to change it, connect again with a new one
- **Google** (Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar) first explains what SourceGeek will be able to do. Click **Agree and continue to Google**
- **Microsoft 365** (Outlook, Outlook Calendar, OneDrive, Teams Meetings): if your organization only lets admins approve apps, the error message includes an approval link for your Microsoft 365 admin. They open it, no SourceGeek account needed, and then you connect again

### Applicant tracking systems

An ATS connector's page lists the **ATS operations** SourceGeek supports in it: find an existing candidate, create or update a candidate, add a note, move a pipeline stage, add to a job, and read the pipeline. Not every ATS supports every operation; the page shows which ones it does.

## Connectors are personal

You connect with your own account, and only you can use the connection. Other members don't see your connectors as connected, and SourceGeek never uses them on a colleague's behalf, not even in a [shared chat](/chats#shared-chats): it uses the connectors of whoever sent the message. Each member connects their own.

Connections are per workspace: in another workspace, connect again.

## Approvals

Reading, such as searching your inbox or your ATS, happens without asking. Before SourceGeek changes anything, such as sending an email or updating a candidate, it asks for your approval, depending on your workspace's setting. See [Questions and approvals](/approvals).

Everything SourceGeek changed through a connector is listed under **Settings → Usage → Agent activity**. The **Activity** button on a connector's page shows just that connector.

## Manage your connectors

The **Connected** tab lists your connectors. On a connector's page:

- **Enabled for agent**: switch off to stop SourceGeek using it without disconnecting
- **Available tools**: what SourceGeek can do with it
- **Reconnect**: sign in again or replace the API key
- **Disconnect**: remove your credentials. What SourceGeek already made stays in your chats

### Needs attention

If a connector shows **Needs attention**, its connection stopped working, for example because a password changed or access was revoked. Open it and click **Reconnect**.

## Custom connectors

Use a tool that isn't listed? If it offers a remote MCP server, add it on the **Custom** tab:

1. Click **Add custom MCP**
2. Enter a **Name**, the **MCP server URL** (HTTPS) and the **Transport**
3. Add any **Headers** it needs, such as an API key. Header values are stored encrypted and never shown again
4. Click **Add connector**

Custom connectors authenticate with headers only.
