# ChatGPT

## What the SourceGeek plugin does

The SourceGeek plugin lets ChatGPT use SourceGeek on your behalf. In a ChatGPT conversation you can search candidates, companies and job postings, save results as sheets, score a sheet against a job description and turn it into a shortlist. ChatGPT can also read your workspace's [memory and company context](/memory), such as your tone of voice and company profile, look up occupations and skills in ESCO and Dutch labour market statistics from CBS, and work with your projects.

The employee and company data tools (public profiles, companies, jobs and posts) are available from Claude and in the SourceGeek app, not from ChatGPT.

## Connecting

1. In ChatGPT, open the plugin directory and add **SourceGeek**. Until the listing is live, add it as a custom MCP server instead: in ChatGPT on the web, open **Plugins**, select **+** and then **Add custom MCP server**, name it SourceGeek, enter `https://chat.sourcegeek.com/mcp` and choose **OAuth**.
2. Sign in with your SourceGeek account when ChatGPT asks.
3. Choose the workspace ChatGPT may use and select **Allow access**.

Each connection is tied to one workspace. To use a different workspace, disconnect SourceGeek in ChatGPT and connect again. ChatGPT asks you to confirm before SourceGeek's tools change anything in your workspace.

## Credits

Searches, enrichment and scoring use your workspace's credits, exactly as they do in SourceGeek, and each project task ChatGPT starts costs one chat run. Reading your sheets, memory, company context and projects, and planning tasks, is free. You can follow usage under **Settings → Usage**; see [Credits and usage](/workspace/usage).

## Where results appear

Sheets and shortlists that ChatGPT creates are saved in your workspace in a thread called **From ChatGPT**. Open them there to share them with your team, score them again or continue in SourceGeek.

## Seeing and revoking access

Open your workspace settings and go to **Connected apps**. You see the apps you connected and can disconnect any of them; workspace admins see and can disconnect everyone's. A revoked app is signed out immediately; what it created stays in the workspace.

## Data and privacy

SourceGeek receives the tool calls ChatGPT makes and their inputs, such as a search query or a job description. It does not receive your ChatGPT conversations. For each tool call SourceGeek keeps an audit record with the tool name, the outcome and the time it took, for 90 days. Candidate data comes from third-party sources (CoreSignal, Parallel, and public profile data from RapidAPI data vendors when a sheet's rows are enriched for scoring), as in the SourceGeek app.
